Greenburn School
An outstanding school for children with additional support needs

Planning and Reporting

A full description of our planning actions can be found in our School Handbook, however, there is a summary of our points of action:

Every child has an Individualised Educational Programme containing Long Term and Short Term SMART targets for Communication and Language, Development of Understanding / Maths and Personal and Social Development.

Every child in school has a yearly Review Meeting which takes place on Thursday mornings on school from September through to February or beyond. Parents, class teacher and all professionals working with the child will attend.

A thematic approach to learning and teaching is used in Greenburn School and class themes change termly.

Each child receives a “Record of Achievement” at the end of the school year.

Success is also celebrated every Friday at the school assembly when a child, from each class, is presented with a certificate for achieving “Pupil of the Week”.

A weekly diary should be written and sent home every Friday letting the parents know all that has been happening in class, in school and out in the community that week.

There are two Parents' Nights each year
